First day with Campers
First Day of Camp!
As many of you know I am at camp for the summer. Yesterday was indeed the first day of having campers here and it was an interesting experience. I was excited yet at the same time was not exactly sure what to expect.
There are highs and lows and kids can be a challenge. For example this week we have soccer camp and drama camp and the kids for soccer camp are quite a bit younger than those for drama camp. There is so much energy in these kids it is absolutly amazing. Just eating a meal or better yet dessert kids have a hard time sitting still, eating, and not bugging the person next to them. Then there are the moments of one kid showing another how to play pool. Other fond memories from the first day of camp.
-U Rocks - a rock with a U on it that tells someone that they are awesome for being polite or just being helpful.
- camper missing their stuffed animal
- girls with attitude
- little boys with endless amounts of energy and michevousness
- camp fire
- trying the blanket game and it not working.
Summer Camp at Tyme Out has Begun
What do kids love to do in the summer? You know, go to camp. Yes many of us as kids had the experience to go to camp and do arts and crafts, meet lots of new people that we call BFF (best friends forever) and who would want to forget camp fires ( where there is everything from great stories, to good jokes and laughs for all). Well this summer I get to experience being a camp counselor at the Tyme Out Center in Wisconsin.
Today (Sunday) began trainging for camp. It was a tour of the place we are working, thinking really I might get lost in what seems like a giant maze. Yet in due time I am sure that this place will become like home.

WICKED
Yesterday I went on a trip with my local bank, yes those of you who know me well, are laughing because of the size of my town and might even be making sheep jokes. Anyway, we went to Chicago to see the musical Wicked. You may be asking what is that? Well it is the story before the Wizard of Oz that tells the story of the Witches of Oz, in particular the Wicked Witch of the West.
The costumes, sets, and special effects were amazing. There were of course winged-monkeys, and Glinda the good. The actors had amazing voices, and Elphaba (who is the Wicked Witch) was played by the understudy and still had an absolutely amazing voice.
A few lessons from the story, appearances can be deceiving, people are in your life for a reason (For Good), and not everyone needs to be Popular but rather be who you are and were made to be.I highly recommend this production to anyone who enjoys musical theatre. It is a great story with some catchy tunes. :)
